Description:

Nursing Assistant Test - Red Wing

The two parts of the Minnesota Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation, the Knowledge Test and the Manual Skills Test, will be administered on the same day. Candidates must pass both parts in order to receive a certificate and be listed on the Minnesota Nurse Aide Registry.

Knowledge Test

The Knowledge Test is an online test which consists of seventy (70) multiple-choice questions in English. Candidates will have a maximum of 120 minutes to complete the test. An Oral/Audio test option is also available, which you must select in your profile in the testing system. See instructions below.

Students must have access to the Headmaster TestMaster Universe (TMU) website in order to test: https://mn.tmutest.com. If you went through a training program, verify with your training site that your training program is entered and completed in TMU so that you can log in. If you are challenge/test-out candidate, please indicate this when you register and you will be set up with a TMU login. If you aren't sure whether you have access to TMU, try Forgot Password.

Scheduling an Exam
After you have registered for the Knowledge Test through MSC Southeast, we will then schedule you into the test event in the TMU website. Once you are scheduled into the test event, you will receive an email notification (and text if you listed a text capable phone number in your TMU record) confirming your exam date and time. You can always see your test date and time online at the Minnesota TMU webpage, https://mn.tmutest.com, using your Email or Username and Password. If you are unable to sign in with your email, please call Headmaster for assistance at (800) 393-8664.

  2. Click "Your Profile" in TMU
  3. Locate Testing Preferences
  4. Select the "Enable Audio Testing" checkbox

  6. The above must be completed before we schedule you into the test event in TMU. You will then see "Audio Test" next to your name in the test event in TMU.
  7. If for any reason you did not enable this option prior to being scheduled into a test event in TMU, email registerme@southeastmn.edu so we can work with you to resolve the issue.

Skills Test

During the Manual Skills Test you will demonstrate a set of randomly selected nurse aide skill tasks for an RN Test Observer. You will find a complete list of skill tasks in the candidate handbook. You will have a maximum of thirty (30) minutes to complete these tasks.

Candidate Handbook

The candidate handbook is available on Headmaster's Minnesota Webpage (click on the link in the upper left-hand side).

You have three (3) attempts to pass the knowledge and skill test portions of the exam within 24 months from your date of nurse aide training program completion.
