This live online training course is offered by a collaboration of Minnesota State colleges.
Many of us spend nearly half of our waking hours thinking about the past, worrying about the future, or lost in thought and unable to stay focused on the present moment. Not only does research show that mental wandering can decrease our happiness and increase our stress, it also shows that mindfulness practices that promote staying in the present moment can both increase happiness and decrease stress.
In this 2 hour workshop-style course, we will explore multiple ways of introducing and experiencing mindfulness into daily life. We will look at ways mindfulness can reduce stress, improve happiness, create connection, and cultivate compassion. Throughout the 2 hours, we will sample multiple types of mindfulness through an active practice format.
