This course will give students a look at comprehensive SUD treatment from an outpatient, community perspective, focusing on retention in treatment for over one year. The components of comprehensive treatment will be examined, including the role of medical providers in the treatment process. The course will also outline best treatment practices during COVID, the role of witnessed urine screens in IOP, and Post-Acute-Withdrawal Syndrome and the role it plays in long-term community treatment.
