First Family Pets
#: CBEP   ID: 9154   Section: 061621C19
Description:
Katherine's program will focus on the history of First Family pets, from the familiar (Barbara Bush’s dog Millie) to the lesser known (Thomas Jefferson’s mockingbird Dick). From dogs and cats to more exotic creatures, the pets that Presidents and their families choose as their animal companions can tell us much about these individuals and the times in which they lived. The ways in which the Chief Executive interacts with his pets can also lend important insights into his judgment and character.
