Canoes: A Natural History in North America
#: CBEP   ID: 9154   Section: 082621C19
Description:
The canoe, in all its forms, is a classic form of transportation in American culture. From originals in dugouts and birch barks to wood, wood-and-canvas and synthetic materials, the canoe has gone from a working vehicle to a pleasure craft, yet the basic design has not changed for 5,000 years. Dr. Neuzil will trace the canoe's history from Native American times to the present day.
