#: LVON-1069   ID: 226   Section: 0629

This live online training course is offered by a collaboration of Minnesota State colleges.

Do you or your direct reports have access to electrical panels and/or electrical test equipment? All workers who are potentially exposed to energized electrical systems (often maintenance and repair personnel) - and their supervisors - need electrical safety training to remain compliant with OSHA and MSHA regulations.

Participate in this interactive live online 4-hour training course to learn how to address electrical hazards in the workplace and the steps you can take to minimize them, with special emphasis on shock avoidance and arc flash hazard recognition. Actively engage the instructor with personal protective equipment scenarios, electrical test equipment demonstrations, and hazard recognition analysis.

Course Topics:

  • Electrical safe work practices
  • Basic 3-phase power systems
  • Electrical test equipment usage
  • Hazard recognition analysis
  • Regulatory safety requirements regarding electrical safety

Participants need no formal electrical training, but should have a working knowledge of their workplace environment with respect to electrical service and utilization.
