Prepare for a career in the fast-paced field of Healthcare Sterile Processing. Central Service Technicians work in hospitals and surgery centers to clean, decontaminate, disinfect, sterilize, and distribute medical and surgical instruments and equipment. With classroom lectures, lab instruction and a clinical experience, students will be prepared to take IAHCSMM's (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management) certification exam.
Class Dates: January 31 - May 13, 2022
Classroom Dates: January 31 - April 25 | Monday and Wednesday, 6:00-9:00 pm
-Depending on COVID-19, class will be mix of online work, live webinars, and lab on campus
*Clinical Dates: May 2 - 13: Monday - Friday (Must be available for both day and evening shift) 80 Hours (full time)
- *Clinical availability will depend on COVID-19; internships will be scheduled if hospitals are allowing students, but we cannot guarantee an internship.
Requirements: Vaccination records
and background check are required prior to clinical. Physical demands include standing for up to 8 hours, repetitive lifting of up to 25 pounds, and pushing/pulling heavy carts.
