The WSU Retiree Center is offering another opportunity to see a fantastic Broadway musical in the Twin Cities. On Sunday, July 10th we will be heading to the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis to see a matinee performance of Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations. We have secured great main-level seats for the show. Here’s a little information about the play:

Ain’t Too Proud — The Life and Times of The Temptations is the electrifying new smash-hit Broadway musical that follows the Temptations’ extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The winner of the 2019 Tony Award® for Best Choreography, it’s a thrilling story of brotherhood, family, loyalty and betrayal during a decade of civil unrest in America. Set to the beat of the group’s treasured hits, including “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Get Ready” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” Ain’t Too Proud  tells the unforgettable story of the legendary quintet that Billboard Magazine called, "the greatest R&B group of all time."

Before the play begins at 1:00 p.m., we will eat lunch at 11:15 a.m. as a group at the Rock Bottom Brewery (cost of lunch is included in the price of the trip).  The Rock Bottom Brewery is conveniently located just across the street from the Orpheum on Hennepin Avenue.  We will have a private room that overlooks the Orpheum and will have three menu options:
  • FISH & CHIPS Kölsch-battered cod, waffle fries, jalapeno coleslaw, house made Cajun remoulade.
  • ROCK BOTTOM CLASSIC CHEESEBURGER Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles + red onion. Served with waffle fries.
  • MARGHERITA PIZZA (Vegetarian option) Mozzarella, tomatoes, roasted garlic, olive oil, basil.
  • DESSERT – STOUT FUDGE BROWNIE: House made fudge brownie, vanilla ice cream, stout fudge sauce + chocolate shavings
  • Dinner includes unlimited coffee, tea, and fountain soda.  We will also have access to a cash bar, which includes Rock Bottom’s handcrafted ales and lagers (not included in the price of the trip).
