Sherlock Holmes in Minnesota
#: CBEP   ID: 9154   Section: 1003222C19
Description:
Sherlock Holmes may be one of the best known literary characters (or living consulting detectives) ever to appear. How did Holmes come to be so popular, what did Sir Arthur Conan Doyle think of him, and how did perhaps the largest collection related to Mr. Holmes end up at the University of Minnesota? These questions and others will be explored as we look at the life and world of Mr. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson. This class will touch on historical and literary aspects of Holmes which fuel his enduring appeal.
