The Substitute Teacher: Training Workshop is designed to prepare participants to begin a career as an effective substitute teacher. A job as a substitute teacher allows you to have a flexible schedule and gain valuable experience working with K-12 students.

The workshop will include information about
  • Licensure requirements and procedures
  • Classroom management strategies
  • Tips for engaging students in the classroom
  • Lesson plan delivery 
Facilitator Mary Anderson has over 39 years of experience both as a teacher and as a principal. She currently teaches at Winona State University and is passionate about learning and creating a warm environment for students.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to become a substitute teacher, you must have completed a bachelor's degree or plan to complete a bachelor's degree.
