2023 Health and Biomedical Sciences Summit
Communities in Action: Pathways to Health Equity
Health inequities are pervasive in our communities, particularly in rural areas where access to care and resources is limited. Individuals across the life-span have experienced racial and other social justice inequities that have reduced their quality of care. Relatedly, few healthcare professionals have the same demographics and lived experiences of the individuals they care for. Thus, inequities in health exist among patients and practitioners. The purpose of this Summit is to recognize the need for improved and interconnected services and provide educators and practitioners with tools needed to eliminate health inequities in our communities.
