Description:
This is an introductory course giving you opportunities to learn the basic concepts of coding and gain exposure to various coding languages through the use of scratch, mine craft, Microsoft Small Basic, Google/MIT AppInventor, Code Combat and various other websites.
Scratch is an introduction to programming concepts.  We will also use Minecraft tutorial in code.org to move characters around the screen to accomplish various tasks.  

Next, you will be introduced to Small Basic from Microsoft.  A simple and friendly format to learn text based coding. You will find libraries of games made through small basic that can be modified or you can make your own.

AppInventor is cloud base utility to make Android apps for your android phone.  You will be given introductory tutorials to create simple and fun apps for your phone.

Code combat is an interactive adventure game as an introductory to Python programming.  Walk through the dungeons Kithgard guiding your hero through mazes collecting gems and earning equipment to advance to new levels.

These are just a few of the things you will experience.  You will go home with simple practical skills that can be used immediately to make simple apps for your computer.
