#: CBEP    ID: 9154    Section: 032023C19
Description:
Obsessed by a desire to find the source of the River Nile, David Livingstone devoted his life to this search, because he believed that its discovery would help him end the East African slave trade. Out of contact with Britain for over 6 years, Livingstone is feared dead.  American-born Stanley, who had not set foot in Africa before, assembled a caravan of over 100 porters with the promise to bring Livingstone back dead or alive.
