Current Nursing License.
You must submit your LPN License during the registration process.


Course Information

This is a hybrid course to provide the LPN with the knowledge of IV fluid balance, IV medication administration, central venous catheter maintenance, IV legalities with the role of the practical nurse, and IV initiation. The course is designed in a hybrid format that would equal 30 hours of study and participation time over four weeks. In addition, a minimum of six hours spent in lab practice time and four hours supervised practice with an approved preceptor.

Dates listed below are administrative only. Registration ends May 20, 2024. Coursework, labs, and preceptor clinical must be completed before June 28, 2024


Course requirements

  • Students will be required to provide LPN License to complete registration process.
  • Students will be required to use a computer with internet access to complete online course.
  • Students will be required to attend scheduled lab(s) on the East Grand Forks campus.
  • Students will be required to identify a clinical site with an approved clinical preceptor or attend an NCTC lab with faculty/clinical preceptor to complete successful initiation of three IVs.

 

Bring to Class:
Registration fee includes cost of textbook and lab supplies. Textbook must be returned upon conclusion of course or you will be charged a book fee. Textbooks can be picked up and returned on the East Grand Forks campus. Additional information will be sent to you.

April 23, 1 pm – 3 pm
May 7, 10 am – noon
May 15, 1 pm - 3 pm
June 6, 10 am – noon
June 13, 1 pm – 3 pm

Cancelation must be received seven days prior to course start date for a full refund.

***This is an online course with an onsite lab in East Grand Forks. Lab dates will be scheduled with your instructor - 4 hour lab date. Clinical dates with your approved preceptor will be scheduled (TBD). Please disregard the dates/times listed below as those are not accurate.
