Your healthcare career starts here! This Nursing Assistant course is approved by the Minnesota Department of Health. Learn basic nursing skills including how to take vital signs, provide personal cares and mobility assistance. Become prepared to work in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home care agencies. Be guided by a team of registered nurses who care about your success! 
 
Students who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to take the Nursing Assistant Competency Evaluation to be placed on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. 

Student Enrollment Options 

This course is included in the Next Generation Nursing Assistant – Train, Test, Work initiative. For accepted Next Generation Nursing Assistant – Train, Test, Work students, this course and registry testing are available tuition-free thanks to State of Minnesota funding to help with the nursing assistant workforce shortage. Participants are required to work as a nursing assistant after training completion. 

Class Requirements:  

Attendance is mandatory for all class hours.  We will contact you as soon as we have dates and a location for the Southwest portion of Minnesota.

Required In-Person Classroom Sessions and Skills Labs

• TBD - you are required to attend ALL CLASSROOM SESSIONS

You will also be required to attend Employer Engagement Sessions.

Testing:
Successful completion of the class will be followed by a knowledge test and a skills test.

You will receive a survey via email from Distance Minnesota following completion of registration. Please respond to this survey within 48 hours to ensure you remain on the class roster. The survey response will be followed by a phone call to confirm your eligibility for the funding for the class. Please respond to this call within 48 hours.
