This course provides certified Minnesota Commercial Vehicle Inspectors with the required 2-year recertification training and test. Designed for those who perform required safety inspections of commercial vehicles, this training covers law changes, inspection changes, and problem areas. The instructor is certified by the MN State Patrol.
Classes run from 8am to approximately 4pm. A manual and the recertification test are included in the cost of the course.
Per the MN State Patrol, please have the following information available when you register for this class:
- Inspector's home address, personal phone number, and email address (required as secondary point of contact)
- Inspector certification number
- Employer's address and phone number where inspections are performed
- County in which the inspector performs inspections
Please Note:
Inspectors are required to recertify every two years. Recertification must be completed before the expiration date of your certification. If your certification has lapsed six months or more, you will need to take the New Certification course again to be reinstated. For more details, visit the MN State Patrol MIP webpage.
If you fail the recertification exam, you are allowed to register and re-take the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Recertification class and exam ONE additional time at a later date. You will need to register and pay again for the additional opportunity to attend and retake the exam.
