Come learn to sail on a weighted-keel sailboat with outboard engine on the incomparable waters of White Bear Lake. Earn your American Sailing Association Basic Keelboat certification while enjoying the soothing tranquility of this lifestyle sport. Let our caring, expert instructors guide you to new worlds of expertise and enjoyment.
Successful completion of the course earns you an American Sailing Association 101-Basic Keelboat certification.
This 12-hour learn-to-sail course will give you the skills and confidence you need to master skippering a small keel boat, allowing you to continue your skill development on larger sailboats through ASA 103-Basic Cruising and ASA 104-Bareboat Chartering.
Please wear non-slip shoes that cover your toes, and bring a jacket and water bottle. PFDs/life jackets required and provided.
This activity requires a moderate amount of balance and strength.
Instructors: Sail Away Sailing School staff are American Sailing Association-certified instructors, also trained in CPR and First Aid.
Sail Away Sailing School, LLC will provide ASA Official Logbook and certifications. Purchase your textbook at St. Paul College bookstore.

ASA Book and Materials:
ASA Sailing Made Easy Book is provided to you in the price of the course. Students are expected to have read through the book prior to beginning training on the water.
