Upon completion of this online course, the following steps must be taken to complete the process for the hazmat endorsement on your CDL:
- Complete a TSA Background check (includes fingerprinting). Start at this website to apply: https://universalenroll.dhs.gov/workflows?servicecode=111168&service=pre-enroll
- Take the Hazardous Materials knowledge test at a Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) exam station in the state your license is issued. This knowledge test cannot be taken without completion of this online course. DVS will complete the endorsement process upon passing of the Hazardous Materials knowledge test and verification of the TSA background check. Study materials include this course and the CDL manual.
