Medication Aide (TMA) - Hybrid

Description:

Acquire the skills to safely administer medications under the direction of a nurse. Discover how medications affect the physiology of the body systems. Participants will learn and demonstrate how to give medications through oral, rectal, and topical routes. The legal requirements concerning medication administration and documentation will be discussed.

A Trained Medication Aide (TMA) Certificate of Completion is earned upon completion of the course and meeting all course guidelines.

Please note: Individuals who wish to work as a TMA in a skilled nursing home or licensed boarding care facility must be on the Nursing Assistant Registry and have completed a Minnesota Department of Health Approved Nursing Assistant program.

This course includes online coursework.
