Description:
This course is designed to meet the needs of facilities, i.e., long-term care (LTC), mental retardation units (MR), mentally ill units (MI), and schools who employ nursing assistants and wish to use these unlicensed personnel to administer medications. This course includes the study of legal requirements concerning drugs and drug administration, general information about medication, terminology related to medication administration and use of reference sources. Participants will learn actions, usual dose, toxic symptoms, and special considerations of a variety of drugs.
