LPN/RN Refresher W-E Rolling Enrollment
#: HBHE    ID: 2380    Section: 01
Description:
Class Structure:
This course, which is primarily online and self-paced, provides an opportunity for exposure to current nursing theory and skills practice for the nurse returning to the work force. It provides 60 hours on nursing theory (in a blended format- primarily online) and 80 hours of clinical experience.

The course includes:
-60 Hours of Online theory review with an instructor
-In-person lab practice of specific skills included
-80 hours of Clinical practice/externship coordinated at an approved clinical facility

Class start dates are flexible & students progress through material at their own individual pace. This allows students to enroll at any time while this section is in session. All course requirements must be completed within one year of gaining access to course materials to qualify for successful completion of this course. A written extension request can be submitted & may potentially be granted in extenuating circumstances.

Our course has been approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing as a valid refresher option for those that need either LPN & RN license reregistration.

Completion of Program:
The nurse/student is expected to attend at least one lab session coordinated with the Instructor.  Additional online & clinical externship hours are required. Once the nurse/student has met all course requirements, required objectives will be verified & an affidavit of successful completion will be sent directly to the Minnesota Board of Nursing.

Please Note:
Registration in this course does not guarantee clinical placement. Inability to pass a DHS background study, seven-panel drug screen, or nurses with conditions/stipulations on their license and/or disciplinary action from the MN Board or Nursing may experience delayed externship placement or, potentially, a general rejection for clinical placement. A DHS-approved background study is required PRIOR to receiving a clinical externship assignment.  If you have been arrested, charged or convicted of any criminal offense, you should investigate the impact that the arrest, charge or conviction may have on your chances of employment in the field you intend to study or on your chances to obtain federal, state, and other higher education financial aid.

OUT OF REGION APPLICANTS:
If you are not in the Greater St. Cloud Area and wish to complete this course, you will need to secure your own clinical placement. All requests for clinical placement need to be coordinated with the program manager. Students must find a facility that will accept there clinical placement and be able to accomplish the core competencies of the course. Students must provide the facilities name, preceptor, and client contact for contract purposes.

A full refund is available if requested before gaining access to online coursework. Once students gain access to online course material they no longer qualify for a course refund.
