Pilot-Escort Driver Re-certification W-E -- ONLINE VERSION

Description:

Minnesota pilot car/escort car drivers are required to recertify every four years. Successful completion of the recertification course will provide another four-year certification. Twenty-five (25) examination questions are included in the course, of which 20 must be answered correctly in order to achieve recertification. Topics include: a review of the standard, height pole usage, flagging and flagger requirements, railroad grade crossing safety, and working with law enforcement. This course meets the training requirements of Minnesota Administrative Rules, Chapter 7455. Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Minnesota Pilot Car/Escort Car Driver Initial Certification.

If you do not recertify by your expiration date, you will have a 90-day grace period after your expiration date to attend a recertification class in order to regain your status as a certified pilot/escort driver so that you can legally escort again in Minnesota. If you fail to attend and successfully complete recertification class during that grace period, you will then be required to attend and successfully complete a full 8-hour certification class in order to legally escort again in Minnesota.

Register anytime during the open period and complete the course Online at your pace. Once you have enrolled in the Online Class you will be sent an email with details on how to access d2L and a link for entering the class.

You will need to do two things in StarID self service:

- activate your StarID

- set your preferred email address
