This course meets or exceeds the instructional requirements of NFPA 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications at the Managing Fire Officer Level. In this course, students will discuss current trends and issues that affect the mid-level officer including budgeting, employee development, discipline, evaluation and motivation, succession planning, communication, and the managing officer's role in training, prevention, investigation, and community outreach.
