This course is four weeks of online/ self-paced Knowledge and Theory Training, 50 hours of Behind the Wheel Training (BTW), and the required DOT physical and Drug Screening.
Theory Training
Students get four weeks to complete 33 modules. These modules consist of reading the text book, looking up sections in the CDL manual, and sometimes watching a video. At the end of each module they take a quiz and have to score an 80% or higher.
BTW
Students self schedule up to 50 hours of behind the wheel hours with one of our instructors in Hibbing, MN or Grand Rapids, MN using an application called Booksy. Students will test at the Department of Public Safety with one of the trucks from our fleet.
DOT physical and Drug Screening
Students need to complete a DOT Physical and Drug Screening with an approved vendor that is contracted with Minnesota North College before Behind the Wheel Training begins.
