Description:
This ominous title was originally given to the northern coast of Lake Erie, but a series of tragic losses on Lake Superior eventually moved the moniker to the eastern end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Five lifesaving stations were built to protect mariners who had to cross the graveyard to reach the safety of Whitefish Bay. Ric has been on several dives in this area, and he features several discoveries as well as the tragic losses of the Western Reserve and Edmund Fitzgerald.
