MISSION
To provide culturally based prevention education on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs that address the total well-being of the American Indian individual, family, and community that is embedded in cultural healing traditions.


STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The overall purpose of the Minnesota American Indian Institute on Alcohol and Drug Studies is to promote the well-being of our people.

This Institute is a time for professionals from American Indian communities to come together and enhance our knowledge about chemical abuse, to discuss ways to approach the healing of our communities, to learn new techniques, and most importantly, to continue our own healing process.

MAIIADS Goals:
  • Come together to form a professional community
  • Enhance our knowledge
  • Discuss culturally relevant healing approaches for our people and community
  • Continue our own healing process
CONFERENCE FORMAT
Three-day, in-person conference plus online access to recorded content.
**Presentations on campus will NOT be live-streamed. 

CONFERENCE DATES
In-Person: July 30 - August 1, 2025

VIRTUAL ACCESS DATES
Online Access will open on July 15th leading with 6 hours of Ethics and select recordings from the 2024 conference. Recordings from the 2025 in-person conference (July 30 - Aug. 1) will be uploaded as soon as transcription is completed. Online access will remain open until 11:59 pm on August 22.

All recorded sessions will be available through our D2L CECT Learn website: https://cect.learn.minnstate.edu/
