American Women In Space
#: CBEP    ID: 9154    Section: 051925
Description:
After a brief review of the U.S. men’s space program, we will discuss the lady’s little-recognized participation as far back as 1961's Project Mercury. We will look at how several ladies overcame systemic prejudice to be major contributors in NASA’s Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs, and how these ladies flew into space as many as five times. Finally, we will look at how the first female astronauts shattered the glass ceiling that prevented women from going to space.
