Description:
The deputy surveyors established the guide meridians and standard parallels in the 4th and 5th prime meridian surveys in Minnesota, which was the basis for establishing the county, township, and property lines. Some surveyors remained in the area and became very prominent. I will talk about a couple of these settlers in Olmsted and Winona County.
