Quantum Physcs & the Buddha
#: CBEP    ID: 9154    Section: 061125
Description:
The first part of our lecture today will look at the history of the founding of Buddhism over 2,500 years ago and the basics of the Buddhist belief system. We will delve into the parts of Buddhism understood in the West, such as reincarnation and achieving nirvana. The second part of the lecture will tie in quantum physics, spanning from Newtonian Physics to the Standard Model of Quantum Physics. We take a layman's journey (no scientific knowledge required) into quantum physics and learn how the finding of the Higgs Boson confirms the Standard Model and what all of this means about the universe.
