Description:
Phlebotomy technicians serve an integral role as members of the health care team. A phlebotomy technician is an entry level position in healthcare. Trained to collect blood specimens from patients, phlebotomy technicians are skilled professionals who assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment of disease by ensuring high quality of the specimen they provide for laboratory analysis.
The Phlebotomy Technician Certificate is a combination of classroom, laboratory and applied experiences that will provide students with training needed for employment in phlebotomy careers. Following the on-campus phlebotomy coursework, students will complete roughly 3 hours of online content each week of training.
This program meets requirements for students to be placed in the National Health Association Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam. The first exam attempt is covered in the course fee, and students will be placed on campus for their exam post-training completion.
