The Independent Study LPN Nurse Refresher Course is a self-paced program designed specifically for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who are returning to clinical practice. This course refreshes and enhances clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and practical competencies while aligning with current nursing theory, evidence-based practice, and state professional standards.

The program helps LPNs transition confidently into employer orientation programs and active clinical practice.
Rolling Enrollment & Course Timeline:
The Independent Study LPN Nurse Refresher Course operates on a rolling enrollment basis, allowing students to begin at any time during the college fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).

Students have 12 months from their official registration date to complete all course requirements.

A one-time 3-month extension may be requested with prior approval and an additional fee.

The extension begins immediately following the original 12-month deadline.
Please note: While course sections may display an annual start date of July 1, students should disregard this date. Your official start date is determined by the date your registration and payment are completed.

Instructions for completing a criminal background check (state-specific fees may apply)
Important Clinical Requirement:
While all theory coursework is completed online, clinical skills and hours must be completed in the state where the student is seeking licensure reinstatement or re-licensure, in accordance with that state’s Board of Nursing requirements.
