The Independent Study RN Nurse Refresher Course is a self-paced program designed specifically for Registered Nurses (RNs) who are returning to clinical practice. This course supports RNs who are re-entering the workforce, completing Board-directed remediation, or meeting licensure reinstatement requirements.
The program consists of online theory coursework combined with a supervised clinical experience. All course components align with current nursing theory, evidence-based practice, and professional standards, helping RNs rebuild confidence, strengthen clinical judgment, and transition smoothly into employer orientation and active clinical practice.
Rolling Enrollment & Course Timeline:
The Independent Study RN Nurse Refresher Course offers rolling enrollment, allowing students to begin at any time during the college fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).

Students have 12 months from their official registration date to complete all course requirements.

A one-time 3-month extension may be requested with prior approval and an additional fee.

The extension period begins immediately following the original 12-month deadline.
Please note: Although course sections may display an annual start date of July 1, students should disregard this date. Your official start date is based on the date your registration and payment are completed.

Important Clinical Requirement:
While all theory coursework is completed online, clinical skills and hours must be completed in the state where the student is seeking licensure reinstatement or re-licensure, in accordance with that state’s Board of Nursing requirements.
