Minimum topic requirements for 30-Hour General Industry Course
Supervisors and those desiring more extensive safety and health training will receive a variety of training. This course provides greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics from the 10-hour course. Workers can receive additional training on hazards specific to their job. This course is geared towards leadership. 30 hours of mandatory and optional topics will be covered.
Mandatory – 12 Hours

- Introduction to OSHA – 1 hour
- Walking and Working Surfaces, including fall protection – 1 hour
- Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection – 2 hours
- Electrical –2 hours
- Materials Handling – 2 hours
- Personal Protective Equipment – 1 hour
- Hazard Communication – 1 hour
Elective – 10 Hours. Must present at least two hours of training on the following topics, at least two topics must be presented. The minimum of any topic is 30 minutes.

- Lockout/Tagout
- Machine Guarding
- Welding, Cutting, and Brazing
- Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Ergonomics
- Fall Protection
- Safety and Health Programs
- Power Industrial Vehicles
- Optional – 8 Hours.
Teach other industry hazards or policies and/or expand on the required or elective topics. The minimum length of any topic is 30 minutes.
