The Home & Market Gardener Training Program offers hands-on seasonal training for beginning & learning growers.
Participants receive:

- Grower’s Handbook for Small-Scale Agriculture”
- Their own garden plot at Riverland CC
- Weekly hands-on instruction (includes classroom & garden time)
- Mentorship & community support
- Full-season growing experience
What You’ll Learn
- Sustainable & organic growing practices
- Soil, compost, & water management
- Pest & weed control
- Season extension
- Harvest & post-harvest handling
- Local food marketing & entrepreneurship basics
Bring to Class:
Students to provide seeds, seedlings, fertilizer/weed control and basic garden tools. Additional information about these items will be presented the first evening of class.
