Water Treatment Plant Operations II
In this course students will review the physical, chemical, biological and radiological characteristics of water. The student will then learn to apply this information to various water treatment techniques. The course will next focus on basic water chemistry knowledge required to relate to treatment applications. At this point students will begin the journey through various stages of water treatment. Stages included will be aeration, coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation along with methods to dewater and dispose of residuals. The related laboratory, mechanical and math skills are included. The course will conclude with the treatment technique using fluoride and the importance of this to health and well being of consumers.
