Fifty years after the Apollo 11 mission to the moon, that feat still stands as one of mankind's greatest achievements. This class will describe the motivation, politics, science, and the human drama behind the first landing on the moon. A brief history of the US and Russian space programs leading up to the Apollo 11 mission will provide a background for this monumental event in human history.
