To be eligible for the retake in Minnesota, you must have taken the full test in Minnesota. If taken in Wisconsin, you will either need to register for the full test in MN or take a retake in WI.

READ CAREFULLY – Important Testing Information Below:

Please review the PEARSON VUE Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aid CANDIDATE HANDBOOK for important testing information.  Booklets are available in Student Services or at the following link:
  1. Identification:  Bring two current forms of identification. BOTH must have a signature and one must be a photo ID. If requirement is not met, the test cannot be taken and a refund will not be granted.
  2. Please arrive at the testing room at least 15 minutes prior to the start time. We reserve the right to refuse test takers who arrive past the start time and refunds will not be issued.
  3. If you are retaking a test you must provide previous written test results from Pearson Vue.
  4. Please bring two #2 pencils.

What to Wear:

Wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing.  Scrubs are acceptable but not mandatory.  Be prepared to remove one shoe and stocking for foot care. 
Women: wear a swim suit or tank top under clothing in case a modified bed bath is given.



Parking is free and available to you in the East Parking Lot. Please do not park in reserved Staff or Administration parking. The closest entrance to your room is the Main E-Building Entrance where you will find the Information Desk.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

Full refunds will be issued if session is canceled due to low enrollments or inclement weather. Refunds will be issued if the test date is dropped or date changes are made 2 days prior to test date.  To drop or reschedule, please call 218-733-5932 or email

Inclement Weather:

If class is cancelled for the campus, so are NATO exams. Such announcements will be posted to the Lake Superior College’s website ( Cancellations will also be announced on the following radio and commercial television stations:
KDAL-AM, 610- AM; KDAL-FM, 95.7-FM; KKBC-FM, 105-FM; KLDJ-FM 101.7-FM; KTCO-FM, 98.9-FM; KRBR-FM, 102.5-FM; WDSMAM, 710-AM; WEBC-AM, 560-AM.

Failing Test Scores:

If a failing score is received in either the written or skills component, you will be notified before leaving the test site and will be provided with a written result sheet and directions on how to schedule a retake. Testing schedules are available on campus and can be found on under Health Care NATO. You must bring your previous results from Pearson Vue to the test site when retaking the written and or skills portion of the tests.
