If you've completed the Nursing Assistant course, you will need to take a test to be placed on the national registry. This test is a written and practical (skills) examination.
To remain on the registry, you must work at least 8 hours each year. If you have previously worked in the field, but allowed your registered status to lapse, you will need to re-take (challenge) the test to get back on the registry. The college has a free study guide to help you prepare. (To request a hard copy, email firstname.lastname@example.org.)
You must bring the following to testing:
Two forms of ID (both with signature and one with a picture).
Application for competency evaluation if you have trained at a facility/college (If you have not recently trained, you will take the test as a challenge)
Copy of your nursing assistant certificate if you have taken a training class
Check-in begins 1/2 hour before testing time and testing begins promptly on time. No late shows will be admitted.
Students wanting to cancel their registration must do so 3 working days before the test date.
