The four-hour Medication Aide Refresher is a review of medication administration regulations and procedures designed for unlicensed personnel. It also provides updated information regarding commonly-prescribed medications at long-term care facilities. The course includes: legal requirements concerning medication administration; changes regarding the use of medical language; general medication administration techniques; age-related changes and fall risks. The Medication Aid Refresher course is recommended every two years following original certification.
