This is a 4-hour online training course which provides school personnel the basic knowledge of medication administration to safely administer medications to students in a school setting. This online course provides participants the ability to work at their own pace over a 2-week time period. Students will receive an email from denice.brewer@minnesota.edu the week prior to the starting date of the class with directions on how to access the course. Please make sure to check your “junk” email as many times that is where the email goes.
After completing the online training, the student has an additional 2 weeks to demonstrate eight medication administration skills (oral, liquid, topical ointments or creams, eye drops/ointment, ear drops, nasal spray, & metered dose inhalers (MDI) in the presence of a Registered Nurse. Upon successful completion of the online course and skills demonstration, a certificate of completion will be awarded to participants.
