2018 Summer Scholars Academy
Beginning in 2017, during the summer session, Anoka Ramsey Community College participated as one of the Minnesota State colleges to offer a new summer bridge program, Summer Scholars Academy (SSA). The SSA program assists new entering students who are not ready for college-level coursework. The purpose of SSA is to intervene and to help who has demonstrated academic preparation needs at the higher end of developmental-level. The goal is to support students who need incremental assistance to becoming college ready for the fall. To ensure student success, students must qualify for this program by meeting a specific Accuplacer assessment score ranges. 

June 11th - June 28 | Monday - Thursday

Math 8:30 am - 9:50 am Sasha Verkhovtseva
Reading 10:15 am - 11:45 am Jami Jones
English 12:00 pm - 1:20 pm Melody Heide
 

  The program consists of the following:

  1. 16-hour courses in mathematics, reading and/or writing
  2. Student success component which covers topics such as time management, study skills, college resources and technologies, financial literacy, and academic and career planning
  3. Wrap-around support services which includes tutoring and academic advising
  4. $150.00 applied towards fall tuition awarded to students after successful completion
  5. Subsidized bus pass or other transportation support
