Our Truck Driving program is a customized series of courses that meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements. The first class in the series is Truck Driving Theory (CDL Theory). This course prepares you to take your Class A permit exam. Your permit is required prior to any on-road training here at LSC.
The next class is CDL Class A Range. In this course you will learn how to maneuver a large combination vehicle in confined spaces, including backing skills. Once you are proficient in the range course, you will finish with the CDL Class A Road course.
More information about the training schedule, additional costs (textbook, drug screenings, DOT physical, etc.) and expectations will be offered during orientation on the first virtual meeting of your Theory class.
Required courses to complete the CDL Class A:
CDL Theory: 100% Online Course
CDL Class A Range: Times TBD – Attendance mandatory – Coordinated between lead instructor and student
CDL Class A Road: Times TBD – Attendance mandatory – Coordinated between lead instructor and student
Students must be able to pass and possess the following:
- No major driving violations in the previous five years
- DOT physical
- Pass a drug screen
Your driving record must be reviewed and approved 10 days prior to the start of your class. Please fill out this Vehicle Use Agreement and Consent to Obtain Driving Record(s) and send it to email@example.com with a copy of your driver's license.

Cancellations: The college reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment; payment is then automatically refunded. If we have to cancel your class, you can request a full refund of your tuition or transfer to another course of your choice, space permitting.

Refund Policy: (Also applies to purchase orders) Full refunds will be given to any student/company canceling within the required timeframe set for each class. Typically the timeframe is 3, 7, or 14 business days. For specific timeframe please check the class description. Student and/or companies will incur all charges with no refund if student does not drop the course within the required timeframe.
