Map Making
An affordable workshop series for those wanting to learn more about how to make and use maps in the 21st century. Terrific for K-12 educators (CEUs awarded); hikers, hunters, and anglers; and folks searching for family fun! For more information regarding learning objectives and assessments related to CEUs, please contact the instructor, Carl Sack, Ph.D., at carl.sack@fdltcc.edu or  218-879-0718.
You might not realize it, but everyday you are either the subject of or the user of map-making technology. From public health statistics in the news to the TomTom on your dashboard to the sonagraph in your boat, map technology is abundant in the 21st century. In summer 2019, FDLTCC offers six low-cost workshops to unleash the map-maker and the map-user in you--from family fun with maps to mapping for social justice. All workshops are four hours and are presented at the beginner level. Unless otherwise noted, all workshops meet on the FDLTCC campus. The workshops are presented by Carl Sack, Ph.D., FDLTCC Geospatial Technologies program coordinator, whose work includes publication in the New York Times and curriculum development from postsecondary to K-12 systems. For the cost of a cup of coffee and a sweet treat, FDLTCC delivers top-notch expertise to help you become the navigator of your world.
