Take the next step in your healthcare career by becoming a Nursing Station Technician! A Nursing Station Technician is a unique position in which you are both involved in patient care and coordination of communication within the assigned unit. This program can be completed in as little as 10 weeks. This program is also a next step for current Certified Nursing Assistants or Health Unit Coordinators. This program consists of three required courses:
Nursing Assistant Class - Please note you are required to complete or show proof of successful completion of both the Nursing Assistant Class and the Knowledge and Skills Exam, in addition to showing active placement on the MN Nurse Aid Registry.
Health Unit Coordinator
BLS Provider Course - Proof of BLS Provider Certification is required
Though it is not a requirement, participants are also encouraged to take Medical Terminology.
Courses must be taken within one year of the first class attended. Participants are required to complete the Nursing Assistant Class or Health Unit Coordinator course at Century College. If you take any of the three classes at other locations, you will be required to show proof of completion. Once you complete these courses, please submit the Nursing Station Technician form and email Heather.Schroeder@century.edu to confirm completion.
