#: HMRC-2001    ID: 2025    Section: 0920
Description:
Learn How to Ride & Earn Your Motorcycle License Endorsement!

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Basic Rider Course was designed for beginning riders with no previous riding experience, and it's also recommended for returning riders. Minnesotans wishing to receive motorcycle license endorsement through the BRC must be age 18 or older and have a motorcycle instruction permit in hand. Riders under age 18 are required to take the course to obtain a motorcycle permit.

Course Overview
Online eCourse: You will be REQUIRED to complete a highly interactive 5-hour eCourse prior to the first day of class that provides riders of all skill levels with the basics of motorcycling.

Rider Training: You will participate in 11 hours of hands-on riding exercises on the outdoor riding range with 8-12 other students, guided by two MSF-certified Rider Coaches. These exercises will guide you through the basic skills of straight-line riding, stopping, shifting, and turning, gradually progressing to swerving and emergency braking.

Skills Test: At the end of the range training, you'll perform a skills test on the bike which must be passed in order to earn your endorsement. NOTE: Riders who have already failed a state and/or MMSC skills test twice are not eligible for the state skills test waiver and must skill test at a DVS exam station.

Motorcycles: Provided for all students enrolled in the Basic Rider Course. Motorcycles are standard-style with manual transmissions.
