Module 7 - Water Treatment 2

Description:
Students will continue to work through the water treatment processes required to provide a safe, sanitary drinking water supply for the public. This course will begin with Lime/Soda Ash and ion exchange softening process. Working through the chemistry of the process in order to understand how dosages of chemicals are determined. The associated stabilization concepts will also be presented in order to assure a non-aggressive finished water. 

Students will then evaluate and understand the application of the various methods of filtration available. Class will determine which form of filtration is best suited based on raw water quality and resources of a given facility. Students will then be able to apply acquired knowledge to various situations where adsorption process should be instituted for protection of public health.
