Description:
Students in this course will be required to apply previously gained knowledge to a potentially more complex biological treatment process. Laboratory and math skills will be expanded in order to conduct thorough evaluation of a more complex form of treatment known as activated sludge. Process control options and various modes of operation will be assessed in order to achieve treatment goals. Samples will be examined microscopically, biologically and chemically in order to predict effluent results based on indicator organisms and laboratory analysis.
