Nurse Assistant Knowledge & Skills Test - Pine City

Description:
Knowledge Exam: You will have a maximum of two (2) hours to complete the 70 multiple-choice question exam. You will be told when fifteen (15) minutes remain.You must have a 74% or better score to pass the knowledge portion of the exam.
All test sites in Minnesota utilize electronic TMU© testing using Internet-connected computers. The knowledge test portion of your exam will be displayed on a computer screen for you to read and key in your answers.

Skills Exam: The purpose of the Skill Test is to evaluate your performance when demonstrating MDH-approved nurse aide skill tasks. You will find a complete list of skill tasks in the candidate handbook. Each of your randomly selected three (3) or four (4) tasks will have scenarios associated with them. The scenarios will be read to you by the RN Test Observer immediately before you are asked to do each task. You will be allowed a maximum of thirty (30) minutes to complete your three or four tasks. After fifteen (15) minutes have elapsed, you will be alerted that 15 minutes remain.

Please note: you must pass both the knowledge and skills exam to be added to the Nurse Aide Registry.

 
Bring to Class:
You will receive an important email from the Headmaster TMU system with additional instructions. Please check your email regularly and complete any requested tasks as soon as possible.

⚠️ Note: You will be assigned a testing time in the order your registration is received. Our staff will email you your confirmed testing times once you are registered for the exam in TMU/Headmaster. You do not need to be present for the entire 8:00 AM–5:00 PM testing window—only for your scheduled time.

Skills Exam Details
  • Time: You will be assigned a testing time in the order your registration is received between 8AM-5PM. Please look for the final confirmation email from our staff for your confirmed times. 
  • Location: Pine Technical & Community College, Room 150
  • Address: 900 Fourth Street SE, Pine City, MN 55063
  • Arrival Time: Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time.
  • What to Bring:
    • A valid photo ID (must exactly match your name in TMU)
    • Scrubs (required exam attire)
Please log in to your TMU account at https://mn.tmutest.com and confirm your name matches your ID and that you are able to log in without issue. If not, contact Headmaster before your exam at 1-800-393-8664 (Monday-Friday 7AM-7PM). Mismatched ID information will result in disqualification from the exam.

Virtual Knowledge Exam Details
  • Time: You will be assigned a testing time in the order your registration is received at 8AM or 10:30AM. Please look for the final confirmation email from our staff for your confirmed times. 
  • Format: Online, taken from your home computer
  • Arrival: Log in 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time
  • What You’ll Need:
    • A valid photo ID
    • A quiet, private testing space free of distractions
    • A computer with:
      • Stable internet connection
      • Working webcam and microphone
    • The Zoom app installed on your phone (used by the RN Observer to monitor your testing area)
You will receive a ZOOM meeting link via email from the Test Observer through TMU about 24 hours prior to your exam. If you do not receive the ZOOM link, check your TMU account notifications or contact Headmaster at 1-800-393-8664 during regular business hours.
⚠️ Note: You will use your computer to take the written knowledge exam through TMU and a cellphone or ZOOM capable device to be monitored by the test observer. Both devices are required.

After the Exam
Test results are typically available within 3 business You can access your results by logging into your TMU account.

Cancellation Policy
To receive a refund, cancellations must be submitted at least two full business days before your scheduled exam.
