Farrier Occupational Training
Farrier Occupational Training
Farriers are highly skilled equine hoof-care professionals.

The Farrier Occupational Certificate Training program is designed to give students hands-on experience in trimming and horseshoeing, as well as familiarizing students with the principles and theories of blacksmithing to build shoes and trimming and balancing horses according to their conformation and use. The College’s certificate program is comparable to private horseshoeing school programs.

Students in the Farrier program will spend lab time trimming and shoeing horses, learning how to work safely around horses and studying the art of horseshoeing. Students also receive instruction in equine behavior, entrepreneurial business management, and interpersonal communication.

Master the art of hoof trimming and shoe application to be able to apply for and participate in the American Farriers Association Certification.
