Firefighter I & II 
This course is designed to teach the minimum job performance requirements for a Professional and/or Volunteer Fire Fighter in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association, NFPA 1001 Firefighter I & II, 2019 Edition and NFPA 472, Hazardous Materials Responder Standards, 2018 Edition.

HazMat Technician - Online/Hybrid
Hazardous Material Technician is a 40-hour course and meets NFPA Standard 472. This class will be held mostly online at your own pace with a few hands-on training days at LSC’s Emergency Response Training Center.

Fire Equipment Operator 
This course provides a foundation of theoretical and practical knowledge to understand the principles of the use of water in fire protection and to apply hydraulic principles to analyze and solve water supply problems.  The basic functions of firefighting pumping apparatus will be taught including safe operation and operator maintenance. This course meets the current standard of NFPA 1002, 2017 standards.
 
 
In this course, students will participate in lecture and attend lab days in person at Lake Superior College’s Emergency Response Training Center. This is a 144 hour course that will include a Level I & II Structure Fire at the end of the course, as well as completing the MN State Fire Certification Board FF I & FF II exams.
